When you hear the words “the first car,” what comes to mind? How do you perceive the earliest cars ever produced? Or are you already familiar with them?

Many may envision a primitive vehicle, but the first automobile was far from primitive. On January 29, 1886, Carl Benz, the designer and developer of the first automobile, filed a patent for his “vehicle powered by a gas engine” (patent number 37435).

It was a two-seater, three-wheeler with an engine output of 0.75 horsepower. Notable technical specifications included an automatic intake slide, controlled exhaust valve, high-voltage electrical vibrator ignition with a spark plug, and water/thermo siphon evaporation cooling.
