When we first found Lalita, she was in dire need of help. We rushed her to the vet, where it became evident that her condition was quite severe. At only 7 kg, she was much underweight for her age and unable to open her jaw, preventing her from eating. This left her frail and malnourished, causing her body temperature to drop dangerously. The vet also discovered a significant infestation of hookworms in her stool, highlighting the harsh conditions she had been enduring on her own.
However, Lalita’s journey didn’t stop there. With dedicated care and attention, she began her slow but steady road to recovery. Gradually, she started to regain her strength and her appetite returned for the first time in what felt like an eternity. Each small victory was a reason for celebration, as Lalita transformed from a weak and starving street pup into a lively and cheerful dog.

As the days passed, Lalita’s health continued to improve. She gained weight, her fur came back healthier, and her playful nature emerged once again. She formed friendships with the other dogs at the rescue, demonstrating her resilient and loving spirit. Watching her experience the affection and attention she had been missing was heartwarming, and soon she was ready to join a forever family.
Today, Lalita thrives in her new home, surrounded by a loving family. It’s hard to believe she was once the emaciated puppy we rescued. Her transformation into a healthy and joyful dog is a powerful reminder of the difference that love and care can make. This is the essence of our rescue work—believing that every life, no matter how difficult its past, deserves a chance at happiness.
