In a delightful twist of nature, a rare white lion cub has been spotted playing with its tawny siblings in South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park.

Unlike albinism, leucism affects only the fur, leaving the cub with normal eye coloration. This unique trait was captured in stunning images by wildlife enthusiast Lyle McCabe.
His photos show the cub energetically interacting with its mother and siblings on a rocky outcrop and through the park’s sandy terrain.
McCabe was astonished at this rare sight, saying, “I was mind-blown with this sighting.” The presence of a white lion cub adds to the wonder of Kruger National Park’s landscapes, drawing attention from wildlife enthusiasts worldwide.
McCabe notes that the white cub is treated just like its siblings despite its unique appearance. However, he acknowledges that its distinct coat could pose challenges in the future, particularly in hunting scenarios where it might be more visible.
The white fur might also expose the pride’s location, posing risks during hunts or at their den.
