Last spring, Hayden Howard noticed something was amiss with her dog, Jackson, an English Mastiff, who had been playing in the backyard.
When she called him inside, she initially thought he had been bitten severely by insects. However, a closer inspection revealed much more serious wounds.
Upon visiting the veterinarian, it became evident that Jackson had been shot multiple times. The vet had to shave large patches of Jackson’s fur to extract the bullets — a total of 27 were removed.

Due to the extent of the injuries, several bullets had to be left in place to prevent further harm.
In addition to the bullets extracted, the veterinarian identified around 20 more gunshot wounds scattered across Jackson’s body. Shockingly, Jackson had been shot over 70 times in total.

Following an investigation, authorities discovered spent bullet casings and a firearm in a nearby home. It was later revealed that the neighbor had a history of drug-related offenses.
