In the neighborhood of Santíssimo in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a kind-hearted passerby encountered a dog in dire need of help. The dog, struggling to move with a painfully swollen face, was wandering the streets alone.
The good Samaritan secured the dog to a fence to ensure it wouldn’t wander off again and tried to offer it food. Unfortunately, the dog’s condition was so severe that it couldn’t eat.
Hearing about this situation, local animal rescuer Randel Silva stepped in to lend a hand. He named the dog Jade and promptly took her to the veterinarian for much-needed medical attention.
Jade appeared to have suffered significant abuse; her body was swollen, she was in pain, and she had bleeding wounds.
Additionally, she was battling severe anemia and dehydration. The veterinary team immediately started her on a regimen of antibiotics and provided round-the-clock care to help her recover.
Over time, Jade’s condition improved dramatically. She regained the ability to eat on her own and the swelling started to subside.
Showing signs of being a lively and alert dog once more, she seemed to transform into a new animal. Under the care of the veterinary team, Jade will remain until she is fully healed and ready to find a permanent loving home.
