Eva, a determined young dog, faced a tough battle against paralysis. She couldn’t move her back legs, and despite her many pleas for assistance, help was hard to come by. However, one person took it upon themselves to quietly help Eva, taking her home with plans to see a veterinarian the following day.
After Eva underwent a thorough examination, the veterinarian confirmed she was free from conditions like erlichia and heartworm. It turned out Eva was only anemic, but she still couldn’t move her legs. X-rays revealed the real issue: two damaged vertebrae caused by either an accident or an impact, which resulted in severe pain and her inability to walk.

An orthopedic surgeon was tasked with assessing whether Eva could undergo surgery. Meanwhile, Eva was given strong pain medication to help comfort her, and she responded positively, showing signs of improvement each day.
Remarkably, within three weeks, Eva, who was once too weak to move, began gaining strength in her back legs. She received intensive care, including daily massages, electric stimulation therapy three times a week, and regular water exercises. Her efforts and willpower were evident as Eva’s legs grew stronger and she could hold her front legs firmly for the first time, demonstrating significant progress.

According to the team helping Eva, “She never gave up and taught us so much. Her spirit was truly inspiring.” Eva’s treatment included plasma therapy and weekly injections, both proving effective as she started to stand and walk a little more each day.
The thought of getting Eva a wheelchair was considered, but her increasing ability to walk made it unnecessary. Each day, she reveled in new experiences, like discovering water, which brought a smile to her face—and to those caring for her as well.

Eva’s journey led her to a new beginning with a loving family in Canada. She found a place where she was cherished, respected, and began to embrace the freedom she so deserved.
