Life on the streets is tough for stray cats, with no cozy bed to sleep in and no certainty of food. Sadly, they often don’t get much kindness from people either.
One such cat had grown accustomed to this harsh reality. Years of mistreatment left him wary and distant from humans, barely surviving on his own. Yet, his story took an unexpected turn, revealing a shocking truth no one had anticipated.
For two years, a compassionate woman fed him outside her restaurant. He came like clockwork—hungry, cautious, and always on edge. It became their quiet routine.

She would set out a bowl of food; he would quickly eat and disappear before anyone could approach. She never forced contact, hoping one day he might learn to trust humans again.
One afternoon, a change occurred. The cat appeared injured, and at first, the woman assumed it was from a fight with other strays. But the following day, the situation worsened.
The cat had lost an eye, and by the third day, she noticed something even more alarming—a foreign object protruded from his head. At first glance, it seemed like a twig, but a closer look revealed the terrifying truth—a nail.

Fearing someone had cruelly driven a nail into the cat’s skull, she immediately contacted a local rescue group to launch a mission to save him.
Rescue workers arrived promptly, setting traps around the restaurant, hoping hunger would overpower the cat’s fear. However, this cat was clever. He circled the food, eyed the traps warily, and slipped away each time.
Despite placing over 20 traps throughout the neighborhood and setting up cameras to track his movements, he remained elusive. He would still visit the restaurant each night to eat, then vanish again.

As the urgency grew due to the worsening injury, the rescuers devised a new strategy. They constructed a custom trap near his usual eating spot behind the restaurant. After several days of preparations and adjustments, all they could do was wait.
Finally, after ten long hours, the cat reappeared, thin and weary but still clinging to life. As he approached the food, another stray cat emerged, making the injured cat take decisive action and enter the trap.
The rescuers quickly secured him, marking their first success after many attempts. Tears flowed as they gently placed him into a carrier—safe for the first time in years.

At the vet’s office, a shocking revelation unfolded. The object in his head wasn’t a nail. It was an arrowhead from a broadhead arrow, typically used for hunting large animals.
The arrow had entered from below, piercing his upper jaw and angling towards his ear. Such weapons are designed to kill swiftly, making his survival nothing short of miraculous.
Surgery was necessary to remove the arrowhead, a delicate procedure with no room for error. Fortunately, the surgery was successful, and for the first time in years, the cat could rest without pain.

It was clear this was no accident—if fired from a bow, the force would have killed him instantly. Rather, it was likely launched from a sling, intentionally causing injury but not a quick death.
This act of cruelty was reported to the police by the rescue group, and an investigation is underway with hopes of apprehending the individual responsible before more animals suffer.

Yet, despite his grim past, there’s hope in the cat’s story. Once distrustful of people, he now finds himself surrounded by those dedicated to his recovery. His journey to regain trust and heal will be long, but he is safe now.
This survival tale serves as a powerful reminder: even when some humans exhibit their worst, others are always ready to step in and show compassion.
