While driving through Bali, two women noticed a dog hunched over in a small shelter outside a deserted villa. Concerned, they stopped to get a closer look and found the dog in dire condition. She was severely undernourished and suffered from scabies, which had left her skin painfully scaly and most of her fur gone.
The women gently provided her with food and water, careful not to alarm her and drive her into the nearby traffic. They spent about an hour earning her trust until they could finally pick her up. Surprisingly, the dog remained calm in their arms, as if realizing she had found safety and kindness.

They immediately took her to a veterinarian who confirmed the presence of scabies and also diagnosed an easily treatable eye infection. Following the vet visit, the women brought the dog to their home, allowing her to recover comfortably both physically and emotionally. They named her Lucy. While much of Lucy’s past remains unknown, her future now holds the promise of the care and love she has always deserved.
As Lucy healed, she experienced several “firsts,” such as feeling grass beneath her paws and visiting the beach. She gradually became more outgoing and affectionate, showing a love for cuddling and playing with other dogs. After a month, Lucy found her forever home with Matt and Brianna, a couple from Washington, D.C.

Brianna remarked, “Considering everything she’s been through, it’s miraculous how sweet and trusting she is.” Lucy quickly adapted to her new surroundings, instantly bonding with Matt and Brianna. She’s now living a pampered life, filled with love and care every single day. Her incredible transformation is something to behold, and her journey can be followed further through videos and updates on Instagram.
