After showing remarkable bravery by saving his owner during a home invasion, a heroic dog named Kiko found himself in need of a new home.
Circumstances forced Kiko and his owner to part ways, and he was taken in by Mighty Mutts, an animal rescue organization located in New York City.
Despite facing the challenges of age and deafness, Kiko’s spirit never wavered. Mighty Mutts dedicated themselves to finding an ideal home suited to his special needs.
“We’ve been closely involved with Kiko for over a year and a half, and seeing him finally find his place is incredibly uplifting,” said Jill Hines from Mighty Mutts.
Kiko’s compelling story touched the hearts of a compassionate couple after they read about him on The Dodo. Last Thursday, they welcomed Kiko into their family, offering him the forever home he had been longing for.

Casey Ryan, who acted as Kiko’s foster mother, and played a crucial role in his journey, spoke warmly of him before his adoption, calling him a “wonderful senior bull who deserves a loving and pampered forever home.”
Mighty Mutts continues its important work in New York City, relying on foster families like Casey’s to care for and love rescued dogs while they wait for permanent homes.
