A ginger cat resembling a tiny kangaroo due to his unique movement was discovered along a roadside.
This remarkable feline ended up at the Humane Society in Tucson, Arizona, where it was immediately apparent that he had a special condition—Joey Roo was born without his front legs because of a congenital defect called radial dysplasia.
Interestingly, he has one solitary claw at the end of a nub.

Cortney first heard about Joey, previously known as Bradley, through the shelter, and upon meeting him, she was instantly won over by his charm.
“It was love at first sight,” Cortney shared with Love Meow, recalling how she decided to bring him home that same day. Joey quickly adapted to his new environment, surprising Cortney by managing to jump into the trash can despite his missing limbs.
Joey proves that a physical limitation doesn’t hinder his affectionate nature and cheerful spirit. “He gets along well with everyone, including any foster dogs or cats that come into the house,” Cortney said to Love Meow.

His favorite pastime is getting attention and being held, ensuring that Cortney is never alone, often settling in her lap for companionship.
Joey’s determination and zest for life are evident in his daily activities. He confidently navigates their six-foot-tall cat tree with ease, and despite having only one claw on his nubs, he stands proudly, resembling a small T-Rex.
“He can use stairs, jump onto couches, and even loves wrestling with other cats,” Cortney explained.

Despite his condition, Joey leads a life filled with fun and exploration. He enjoys lounging on chairs while keeping an eye on everyone in the house, demonstrating remarkable agility and balance while moving around.
His adventurous spirit never fades, as he enjoys exploring the world from his cart and meeting new furry friends.
Cortney highlighted Joey’s charismatic personality: “Life isn’t about appearances, but about what you make of it and your adventures.”

Whether greeting new dogs or rolling down aisles in his cart, Joey remains lively and outgoing, regularly bringing joy to those around him. His positive outlook is inspirational, as he continues to embrace life and its adventures wholeheartedly.
Five years have passed since Joey found his forever home, during which he has made many furry friends and even helped foster other rescue animals in need.
Joey may be small, but his heart is big, and he’s spread happiness wherever he goes. Sharing his remarkable story serves as a reminder of his indomitable spirit and the boundless joy he brings.
