Born with injured hind legs, Ava, a 45-day-old puppy, faced a rough start to life. Covered in dirt and suffering from a skin condition known as mange, her early days were filled with challenges. Fortunately, timely intervention brought her the help she desperately needed.
Once rescued, Ava was taken for a thorough medical examination. It revealed that she had a critically low red blood cell count of just 17 percent, prompting a need for medication to boost her levels. Additionally, she was found to be dealing with liver and kidney issues, along with a blood parasite that required treatment.

Nine days into her treatment, Ava started to receive veterinary care for her mange and the blood parasite. Her condition showed signs of improvement as her skin became healthier and she was able to move more freely. Remarkably, she managed to balance on two of her hind legs and walk using her left hind leg.
After 13 days, further assessments became necessary to check the progress of her bone healing. Her foster mother noted the need for a vet visit to conduct an X-ray, as well as routine checks of her temperature and stool to monitor her recovery.

A month later, Ava’s diligent treatment had paid off—she had made significant strides in her recovery. Her growth had normalized, and her fur had transformed into a smooth, silky coat. Full of energy and affection, Ava became a lively and sociable companion, delivering a remarkable tale of resilience and recovery. Her incredible transformation is captured in the heartwarming video below.
