Imagine coming across a puppy in distress on the side of the road. How would you react? Unfortunately, there are many reports about dogs abandoned, struggling to survive, and in desperate need of help.
While many people may not step in to assist, fortunately, there are individuals like Edina Pasic, who took immediate action when she learned of a puppy in need. Upon receiving a distress call about a young dog dragging itself through the grass, she hurried to the scene.

Upon arrival, Edina was confronted with a heartbreaking sight: a puppy, later named Rossie, was unable to stand, crying out in agony as she tried to move her injured body. It appeared that Rossie’s legs were likely broken, possibly from a car accident, and she was terrified of humans, crying out with every painful movement. Edina recalled how Rossie seemed to plead for help through her tearful gaze.
Gaining Rossie’s trust was no easy task, as the traumatized puppy was wary of people. Edina and her friends carefully transported Rossie to a veterinary clinic where her dire need for medical attention became clear.
At the clinic, Rossie’s anxiety was evident as she attempted to keep her distance from everyone. An X-ray confirmed the suspicion: both of her hind legs were broken, necessitating surgery and the installation of fixators.

Though her recovery journey promised to be long, Rossie was now surrounded by people eager to care for her and offer the love she had never known. The following day, Rossie underwent surgery, which proved successful, and she began recuperating. Amazingly, just three days post-operation, this courageous puppy began to walk gingerly.
Edina was in awe of Rossie’s perseverance and spirit, noting, “It’s unbelievable what these little souls can survive. She needs a lot of love, but I’m sure she also has a lot of love to give.” Over time, Rossie gradually became more comfortable around people, though she remained naturally shy.
In a remarkable recovery, 38 days after her surgery, Rossie was walking normally on all four paws. Her health fully restored, she was vaccinated against diseases, and her demeanor transformed into a more trusting and affectionate one.

Finally, Rossie was ready to begin a new chapter. As much as it was bittersweet for Edina and her team to see Rossie go, they were overjoyed by her complete physical and emotional recovery. The once-fearful and hurt puppy was now a joyful and playful companion.
A loving family from England welcomed Rossie into their home, where she now relishes affection and cuddles, basking in the warmth of her new life.
