Fahruddin Kaki Bravo, the dedicated founder of Save Stray Animals in Bosnia, has encountered many distressing situations through his work.
Nonetheless, the scene of a terrified puppy alone on the roadside was particularly moving for him. The small creature, visibly frightened and in pain, ignited a gentle yet determined resolve within Kaki to make a difference.
Kaki approached the puppy, who struggled to escape despite having severely injured hind legs. In his mind, he named the brave little dog Goldie, a name symbolizing hope in the face of challenges.

With patience and care, Kaki gained Goldie’s trust, eventually wrapping the trembling puppy in his arms and promising to provide the love and care it needed.
Goldie had suffered significant injuries, leaving his hind legs paralyzed due to severe neglect. Despite this grim situation, Kaki was unwilling to abandon hope.
He swiftly took Goldie to a veterinarian, determined to secure the best possible treatment and clinging to the hope of a remarkable recovery.

Over the following weeks, Goldie’s journey to healing began. His spirit and enthusiasm remained strong, unbroken by his physical challenges.
Throughout this time, Kaki’s dedication never wavered. He initiated fundraising efforts for Goldie’s medical procedures and even crafted a homemade wheelchair to ensure Goldie could live an enriched life.
The momentous day finally arrived when Goldie found a new home with Jasmina Gerstner, a generous woman who welcomed him wholeheartedly.

Their immediate connection demonstrated the profound resilience and boundless capacity for love they both possessed.
Goldie’s journey is a powerful example of compassion and tenacity at work. Through Kaki’s unwavering devotion and Jasmina’s caring embrace, Goldie not only survived; he thrived.
His story highlights the hope that every rescued animal can experience a fresh start and the joy of a caring forever home.
