A Chihuahua named Phoenix, who was found in dire condition wandering alone on the streets of Quebec, has recently come under our care.
This little dog’s age cannot be accurately determined due to his poor health, as when he arrived, he was extremely underweight, just skin and bones, showing no signs of having ever been lovingly cared for.
Phoenix’s journey has been filled with fear, likely stemming from past trauma, yet he remains undeniably sweet.
Even though he is frightened of new experiences, he is slowly beginning to trust our staff as we work hard to make him feel safe and cherished.
Our dedicated veterinary team is closely monitoring Phoenix’s diet to ensure he gains weight in a healthy and gradual manner.
Alongside this, he is receiving various medical treatments to tackle any underlying health issues that might be contributing to his malnutrition.
Socialization plays a crucial role in Phoenix’s recovery. We are providing him with controlled opportunities to interact with both people and other dogs, helping him to gradually overcome his fears.
It is truly heartwarming to see the progress he is making as he learns to trust and find comfort in those around him.
