Since establishing the Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty in Pittsburgh County in 2010, Ross has become all too familiar with cases of animal mistreatment.
He has sadly encountered many such animals. Still, nothing could have prepared him for the shocking sight of an animal that at first glance did not even resemble a dog.
Ross mentioned that Pierre’s fur appeared to have been growing unchecked for at least 18 months. Pierre was in noticeable discomfort when veterinarians tried to touch his fur.
This led them to sedate him before removing the foul-smelling clumps of fur with clippers and razors.
