In December 2024, an abandoned property in New Mexico became the unexpected scene of a heartwarming rescue. A woman driving by noticed several dogs chained with heavy, painful metal chains. Among them was a two-year-old dog named Violet. Angela Stell, the founder and director of NMDOG, noted that they suspect Violet had spent her whole life in chains.
The discovery of Violet and five other dogs raised concerns, especially since New Mexico laws prohibit leaving dogs chained without supervision. When local county security investigated, they found no sign of an owner, leading NMDOG to step in and ensure the animals’ safety.

Angela Stell shared that Violet was initially very scared and remains somewhat timid. This behavior might suggest that she endured some form of abuse. Despite her challenges, Violet is now on the path to both physical and emotional recovery.
With dedicated care, Violet is regaining health and learning to trust again. Once she fully recovers, this resilient and loving dog will be ready for adoption, hoping to find a forever home where she can finally experience the affection she deserves.
