A veterinarian was on-site to guide the team through the necessary procedures. The plan was to gently place the elephant on its side to treat its injured feet.

Saved from what must have been a harrowing ordeal, the baby elephant was rescued through the team’s compassion. They carefully laid the elephant on a soft surface, promptly beginning treatment.
Although the elephant was visibly in pain, trembling with discomfort, the veterinarian quickly administered anesthesia to ease its suffering. Meanwhile, the team worked efficiently to clean the wounds and apply medication.

Everyone involved is hopeful for the baby elephant’s quick recovery. Regular updates will follow as this touching story continues to unfold.
At the rescue center, wildlife officers care for many injured or orphaned baby elephants until they are healthy enough to return to the wild.
These elephants are not held captive but relocated to large reserves and national parks, such as Yala National Park or the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Our thoughts are with this young elephant as it recovers from such unfortunate circumstances, and we remain optimistic about its healing journey. Stay tuned for more updates on its progress.
