Staying cool during hot weather can be challenging, but two baby elephants at Chester Zoo seem to have it figured out.
Bala and Hari, both aged two, were spotted having a blast together as they enjoyed a refreshing water spray and bath during one of the hottest Julys on record.
The playful pair were captured on film slipping and sliding in the cool water as temperatures reached 24C (75F) last week.
Bala was even seen running his head under a waterfall, falling to his side before diving under and hitting the floor.

Will Condliffe, a staff member at Chester Zoo, shared his joy in witnessing the elephants’ growth and development.
“We’ve built a fantastic relationship with the elephants here,” he said. “We always delight in watching newcomers develop from mischievous teenagers into mighty adults.
It’s great to see Bala and Hari grow up, particularly seeing them having so much fun in the process. It won’t be long before they become big, strong adults.”
Born in January 2013 to mother Sithami, Bala is the youngest elephant at Chester Zoo, while Hari arrived just a few months earlier, in November 2012, to mother Sundara.
